Wentzville was first established in 1855 and was named after a chief minister of the Northern Missouri Railroad. Shortly after, a post office opened up and started operations in 1859. The city of Wentzville is served by the Wentzville R-IV School District, which also provides educational opportunities to St. Louis, and O’Fallon. St. Patrick School is a catholic school that offers grades from pre-school to eight.

An exemplary private Christian school includes the Immanuel Lutheran School, located just off Highway N. Immanuel and hosts classes from pre-school eighth grade.

There are three public high schools available in this district: the Wentzville Timberland High School, the Wentzville Holt High School, and Liberty High School.

For those that want to study further, Lindenwood University, and the Midwest University are also available within the school district. If you’re looking for more choices, the nearby city of O’Fallon, is only a 12-minute drive away and offers plenty of unique options.

The nearest international airport is the St. Louis International Lambert Airport and is located 26.37 miles away from the heart of the city. The domestic airport, Spirit of St. Louis, is also 14.96 miles away. Greyhound and Elite Transportation LLC offer buses or shared shuttles to get to the airport or commute to nearby cities.
